360dialog vs Social Intents · November 2026

A 360dialog alternative your whole team can use on day one

360dialog is excellent WhatsApp API infrastructure for developers and software companies. If you’d rather not build an inbox, webhooks and consent logic yourself, Social Intents gives your team a ready shared inbox on the same official platform, with replies from Microsoft Teams, Slack or Google Chat and Meta billing you directly.

360dialog vs Social Intents at a glance

One sells WhatsApp API access to builders. The other is the finished product for teams. Here’s how to tell which you need.

Pick 360dialog if

  • You have developers and want raw API access to build WhatsApp into your own app or product
  • You’re a software company offering WhatsApp to your own clients through its Partner Platform
  • You send at very high volume, or need WhatsApp Flows, catalog templates or payments

Pick Social Intents if

  • You want a working team inbox this week, without a development project
  • Your team should answer WhatsApp from Microsoft Teams, Slack or Google Chat
  • You want consent records, STOP handling and quiet hours built into every broadcast

Our honest verdict

Neither marks up Meta’s message fees, and both run on the official WhatsApp Business Platform. 360dialog is the stronger foundation if you’re building software. Social Intents is the faster, cheaper route if you just need your team answering WhatsApp well.

Build vs buy: what a raw WhatsApp API leaves to you

API access gets messages in and out. Everything a team needs around those messages is software someone has to build, test and keep up to date as Meta’s rules change.

Shared inbox

On a raw API, you build

Store conversations and media, show history, let several people share one number.

In Social Intents

Web and mobile inbox with unlimited agents on Basic and above.

Assignment and alerts

On a raw API, you build

Route chats, notify the owner and stop two people answering one customer.

In Social Intents

Assign conversations and reply from Microsoft Teams, Slack or Google Chat.

Template manager

On a raw API, you build

Create and submit templates, track approval and explain rejections.

In Social Intents

90-template library, plain-language rejection reasons, edit and resubmit.

Webhooks

On a raw API, you build

Receive Meta’s events, handle retries and duplicates, fan them out.

In Social Intents

Handled for you: messages, statuses and replies land in the inbox.

Opt-out handling

On a raw API, you build

Catch STOP replies and suppress those contacts everywhere.

In Social Intents

STOP replies opt contacts out automatically, and broadcasts skip them.

Consent records

On a raw API, you build

Keep proof of when and how each contact opted in.

In Social Intents

Consent source recorded per contact and checked before every broadcast.

Broadcast pacing and limits

On a raw API, you build

Respect Meta’s messaging limit, pace sends, avoid late nights and over-messaging.

In Social Intents

Quiet hours (9 AM–8 PM by default), frequency guard and pre-flight reach checks.

AI answers and handoff

On a raw API, you build

Wire up a model, ground it on your content, hand off to a human.

In Social Intents

AI chatbot on GPT-6 Luna (included), Claude Sonnet 5 or Gemini 3 Pro.

A fair note about 360dialog’s Premium plan

As of November 2026, 360dialog’s Premium plan (€99 or $119 per number a month) includes a hosted Inbox with assignment, tags, search and quick replies, plus Sendout and Automation add-ons, so you don’t have to build a basic inbox from scratch there. The Inbox docs we reviewed don’t mention replying from Microsoft Teams, Slack or Google Chat, and on the Regular plan you get API access only.

Social Intents Basic, annual

How Meta charges, as of its rate cards effective October 1, 2026: every delivered template message is billed per message by category and country; the first 1,000 service messages per business number each month are free, then charged; and messages in a free entry point window, which opens when you reply to a conversation started from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad and lasts up to 7 days, are free. Model your own countries with our WhatsApp pricing calculator.

Why teams choose Social Intents over 360dialog

Usually when the people answering WhatsApp aren’t the people who’d have to build the tooling.

No code to maintain

Webhooks, retries, template states and Meta platform changes, such as the new account model, are our job, not your next sprint.

Replies where your team works

Every WhatsApp conversation can be answered from Microsoft Teams, Slack or Google Chat, with the history in the thread.

Priced per team, not per number

Unlimited agents from Basic, and Pro covers five WhatsApp numbers for $99 a month billed annually.

Compliance that ships on day one

Consent records, automatic STOP opt-outs, quiet hours, a frequency guard and pre-flight reach checks on every broadcast.

Templates without the guesswork

Start from 90 ready-made templates; if Meta rejects one, you see why in plain language and can edit and resubmit.

AI and website chat included

An AI chatbot on GPT-6 Luna at no extra cost, plus website chat and SMS in the same inbox.

How to switch from 360dialog to Social Intents

Your number, your messaging limit and your contacts’ consent stay yours. This order avoids missed messages.

  1. Export contacts with their consent history

With direct API access your contacts usually live in your own database or CRM. Export them with the opt-in source and your opt-out list, and import opted-out contacts as opted out so they’re never messaged by mistake.

  2. Settle 360dialog invoices and note your balance

360dialog’s own guide to moving away asks you to clear outstanding invoices first. After you cancel, you can request a refund of unused messaging funds.

  3. Add Social Intents to your number

Start a free trial and connect the same number with Meta’s Embedded Signup. Under Meta’s new account model you add a provider rather than migrate, so there’s no need to disable two-step verification or delete the number. If the number also runs on the WhatsApp Business app, connect it with coexistence.

  4. Switch conversation routing

Until you change it, 360dialog stays the responder. In Meta Business Suite open Business settings, then WhatsApp accounts, choose Conversation routing and select Social Intents. Your messaging limit belongs to the number, so it comes with you.

  5. Bring your templates across

Templates belong to the Messaging account they were created in and don’t move automatically. Meta’s template migration copies only approved templates with a green or unknown quality rating between Messaging accounts owned by the same business, and copied templates start again from a baseline quality rating. Otherwise recreate them from our template library.

  6. Cancel 360dialog and remove it from the number

360dialog subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel them in its Hub, and cancelling doesn’t remove 360dialog from your number. Once replies flow through Social Intents, cancel there and remove 360dialog under Partners in Meta Business Suite.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about 360dialog and Social Intents.

Is Social Intents a good 360dialog alternative?
Yes, if what you need is a WhatsApp inbox your team can use today rather than API access to build on. Social Intents connects your number through Meta’s Embedded Signup and gives you a shared inbox with unlimited agents on Basic and above, replies from Microsoft Teams, Slack or Google Chat, AI chatbots and consent-aware broadcasts. If you’re building your own product or sending at very high volume, 360dialog is the better fit.
What is 360dialog best for?
360dialog is WhatsApp Business API infrastructure. Its API page says it’s built “from developers for developers”, and its FAQ says you need a developer for direct API access. It suits in-house engineering teams, software companies that offer WhatsApp to their own clients through its Partner Platform, and high-volume senders. Its Premium plan also includes a hosted inbox.
How much does 360dialog cost?
As of November 2026, 360dialog charges per phone number per month: Regular €49 ($59), Premium €99 ($119) and Scale €500, plus Meta’s messaging fees. Its Partner Platform for software companies starts at €250 a month plus a per-channel fee. Social Intents Basic is $69 a month billed annually ($79 monthly) and covers one WhatsApp number with unlimited agents; Pro at $99 covers five numbers.
Does 360dialog mark up Meta’s message fees?
No. 360dialog says it adds no markup to Meta’s fees; you prepay a credit balance for each number and Meta’s charges are deducted from it. Social Intents doesn’t mark up message fees either: Meta bills your own WhatsApp Business Account directly. So the per-message cost is the same, and the real comparison is the platform fee plus what you’d have to build.
Is Social Intents an official WhatsApp provider?
Yes. Social Intents is a Meta Tech Provider; you connect your number through Meta’s Embedded Signup and messages go through the official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API). Meta bills message fees to your own WhatsApp Business Account.
Can I move my number from 360dialog to Social Intents without downtime?
Yes. Under Meta’s new account model, which reached all businesses by mid-October 2026, you add Social Intents to your number with Embedded Signup instead of migrating it, then switch conversation routing to Social Intents in Meta Business Suite. Your number and messaging limit stay with you. Templates stay in 360dialog’s Messaging account, so copy eligible ones or recreate them, then cancel your 360dialog subscription.
Do I need a developer to use Social Intents?
No. You connect WhatsApp through Meta’s Embedded Signup, invite your team and start replying from the web inbox or from Microsoft Teams, Slack or Google Chat. Templates, opt-outs, consent records, quiet hours and broadcast limits are built in, which is the work a developer would otherwise do on a raw API.
Does Social Intents have a WhatsApp API like 360dialog?
No. Social Intents doesn’t offer a public developer API for sending WhatsApp messages, and it doesn’t support Click-to-WhatsApp ads management, catalogs, payments, WhatsApp Flows or drip journeys. If you need those, 360dialog or another API provider is the right choice. You can try Social Intents free for 14 days with no credit card required.
